1. Unplug electronic items
2. Protect sliding glass doors w/ broomhandles
3. Set timers so your lights go on and off in different rooms. Also arrange to have newspapers & mail stopped. Ask a neighbor to pick up items sitting in your mailbox or driveway
4. Turn your water and hot water heater off. If a pipe bursts, it could run for days before anyone would notice
