George R. Torbert

CEO, CIC

George is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University with a degree in Human Resource Management. He joined The Baldwin Agency in 2014. Prior to his time with the agency, George spent 15 years in the mortgage lending industry serving as the branch manager for Synovus Mortgage for 6 years; he also owned and operated a mortgage lending agency for 9 years. In January of 2016 George became a principal at The Baldwin Agency serving as our CFO. Outside of work George was also an elected official for Sumter County where he served two terms as County Commissioner for District 3 and was also an assistant scout master for Troop 21. George is a member of Americus First Methodist Church and also served as assistant scout master for Troop 21. George and his wife Shay have two children that kept them busy for many years but now they are enjoying being empty nesters.

Jed Jessup

COO, CIC

Jed Jessup is a native of Cochran, GA and is a 2002 Graduate of the University of Georgia Risk Management and Insurance Program at the Terry College of Business. He began his insurance career in 2004 at a small personal lines agency in Macon, GA. In 2006 he moved to BB&T Insurance Services in Macon, GA as a Commercial Lines Account Manager. While at BB&T Jed earner his Certified Insurance Counselor designation. In April of 2011 he was hired as the Travelers Select Accounts Sales Executive for the South Georgia Region. In the Spring of 2014 Jed was recruited and hired by David and Raymond Baldwin of Georgia Agents Insurance Network, in Americus, GA as a recruiter. In January of 2016 Jed became a partner of Georgia Agents Insurance Network, Inc. and The Baldwin Agency, Inc. Jed’s day to day functions are to recruit and retain members for Georgia Agents Insurance Network and work as a commercial lines producer for The Baldwin Agency. Jed and his wife April have two children.

John Teate

Life & Benefits Specialist

John Teate is our strategic partner specializing in life insurance and helping our clients with customized financial planning. Prior to his success with Strategic Wealth Group, John was a National Catastrophe Manager for two of the largest claims consulting firms in the U.S. He and his teams assisted with emergency response and claims during several major storms including Hurricane Irene in 2011 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012. John currently resides in Vienna GA with his two beautiful children.

Raymond Baldwin

Producer

Raymond was a member of the Yellow Jackets Golf Team while at Georgia Tech and a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University with a BBA in Marketing. Since joining the Agency in 1987, Raymond has had extensive experience in the production and marketing of both personal and commercial Insurance. Raymond enjoys travel and is an avid golfer. He and his wife Kim have one child.

Wm. David Baldwin

CIC
Consultant

David serves as a consultant and producer for The Baldwin Agency. He is a graduate of Troy State University with a degree in Accounting. After working as an Agricultural Commodities Broker for nine years, he joined the Agency in 1989. His insurance experience has encompassed all aspects of the agency's operations, from personal and commercial lines to bookkeeping and agency management. He and his wife Renée have four children.

Manager

Sonya Thompson is our Commercial Lines Manager for the Baldwin Agency. Sonya has been with the Baldwin Agency since 2007. In that time, she has continued to grow as an agent by earning here CISR designation and recently earned the CISR Elite designation. Sonya and her husband Brian have 3 children.

Personal Lines Account Placement Specialist

Erica has been with The Baldwin Agency since July of 2017. She specializes in Contractors, Business Owners Policies, small commercial policies and farm policies. Erica’s drive, attention to detail, and knowledge allow her to help our clients in all aspects of risk management.

Controller

Allie Luten is our Financial Controller. Allie has been with The Baldwin Agency since 2011. Allie is a licensed insurance agent in the state of Georgia and assists with our Personal Lines and Commercial lines departments. Allie brings a wealth of knowledge in banking and customer service to our agency. Allie and her husband Michael have one son. She is an active member of Williams Road Church of Christ where she teaches Sunday school for the Children’s program and is involved in the small group and Women’s Ministries. In their spare time Allie and her family love to watch the Atlanta Braves.

Administrative Assistant and Billing Specialist

Liz Murphy is our Administrative Assistant and Billing Specialist. Liz is a licensed insurance agent and brings 10 years of customer service experience to her role. She’s the first face you see when you walk in the office and assists all our customers with billing and other related requests. Liz never meets a stranger, and everyone leaves the office smiling after meeting her! Liz resides in Leslie, with her husband Russell and their two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and attends Williams Road Church of Christ in Americus, GA.

Kara joined The Baldwin Agency in 2017 and works in our Personal Lines team. Kara brings with her 11 years of customer service experience and does an outstanding job helping our clients understand their insurance needs. Kara treats everyone like family and loves meeting new people and finding a way to help them. Kara is originally from Thomaston, GA but has lived in Americus, GA since 2011. In her spare time Kara enjoys travelling and spending time with her friends and family.

Rachel Hagan

Personal Lines Team

Rachel Hagan joined The Baldwin Agency in 2018 as a part of our personal lines team and assists our clients with their home and auto needs. She enjoys the personal interaction with clients and loves helping them find solutions that fit their lifestyle. Rachel is originally from Groveland, FL but has lived in Ellaville, GA since 2011. Rachel has one son, Avery who is the light of her life.
